PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULES
Stroke Play: Two Shots.
Match Play: Loss of Hole.
1. OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 18.2b)
a. Beyond any hedge/fence, white painted stakes or white lines
bounding the course.
b. Beyond the Ashford stream when playing the 4th hole, and beyond the white markers on the 4th bank.
c. The practice ground bounded by the white stakes, when playing the 14th & 18th holes.
d. The overflow car park, when playing the 14th hole, as defined by the white painted stakes.
e. A ball which crosses a public road defined as out of bounds, and comes to rest beyond that road, is out of bounds, even though it may lie on another part of the course.
N.B. Where a ball lies up against a boundary fence, the inner edge of the fencing stake is the boundary and not the fence.
2. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS
a. STAKED TREES (Rule 16.1f)
Staked or sleeved trees are No-Play-Zones and if a player’s ball lies on or touches such a tree, or such a tree interferes with a player’s stance or intended swing, the player must take complete free relief. The ball may be cleaned when lifted.
b. TRACKS & PATHS (Rule 16.1a)
c. Striped Spotter posts, strategically placed in the rough. If the Post impedes your stance, swing and or line of sight.
All artificially surfaced tracks and paths are immovable obstructions.
3. ENVIRONMENTALLY SENSITIVE AREA (Rules 17.1e)
The penalty area on the left of the 6th fairway defined by Red stakes with green tops, is an Environmental Sensitive Area, it is therefore a No-Play-Zone. If the ball is found, or if it is known or virtually certain that a ball that has not been found is in this No-Play-Zone, the player MUST, under penalty of one shot, take complete relief outside the No-Play-Zone (Rule 17.1e).
If the ball comes to rest outside the No-Play-Zone/Penalty Area, but the area of intended stance or swing would be in the No-Play-Zone the ball MUST NOT BE PLAYED AS IT LIES and free relief must be taken.
NOTE: Players MUST NOT retrieve balls by entering the staked No-Play-Zone.
4. OVERHEAD WIRES (Rule 14.6b)
If it is known or virtually certain that a player`s ball hit an overhead wire or supporting pole, the stroke
does not count. The player must play a ball without penalty from where the previous stroke was made (See Rule 14.6 for procedure).
5. DRAINAGE CHANNELS ON 16TH AND 18TH FAIRWAY (Rule 16.1b)
The drainage channels on the approach to the 16th and 18th
greens are designated as Ground Under Repair and a player may take relief in accordance with Rule 16.1b.
6. MAXIMUM PLAYING NUMBERS
The maximum number of players in any one group is restricted to four Persons.
